Owner and his philosophy

Kanha Village Eco Resort is dream project of Rotarian Navneet Maheshwari, member of well known business family of central India - MALPANI FAMILY, famous as makers of modern Jabalpur. He is well recognized for his love of wildlife, nature and environment. He has been running environmental educational and conservation activities for more than a decade and is well known for his fight to save Tigers, its habitat and other denizens of the forest.

He loves reading books on subjects like religion, environment and wildlife and seriously pursues wildlife photography and has more than 200 acceptances / Certificates of Merit / awards in different national and international competitions.

Looking into his interest in wildlife conservation he has been made WCCB Special Officer by Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, MoEF, Government of India.

Navneet Maheshwari is member of NGO’s and societies like:

Rotary Club: - engaged in social service.

Narmada Welfare Society (NWS) – engaged in imparting education to the weaker sections of the society in economical fees structure of around US $ 2 - 3 per month. It along with sister organizations has more than 8000 students in 10 schools in and around Jabalpur.

Jabalpur Nature Society (JNS) – is engaged in environment education in and around Jabalpur region, it has been active in conservation and related issues.

Narmada Education & Welfare Society (NEWS) – engaged in conservation and related activities around forests of central India.It also conducts awareness activities amongst local villagers.

He is a recipient of Paul Harris Fellowship (PHF) from Rotary International, member of Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), Peoples for Animal (PFA), Satpuda Foundation and many other social and philanthropic organizations.

He takes personal interest in conservation activities and takes care of:

Slide shows, Contests, Rallies, Nature trails, Bird watching tours, Signature campaigns and Media advocacy.

His other business include Refractory manufacturing industry, Agriculture (Organic), Finance, Construction and Trading.

Philosophy and guiding principles:

Navneet Maheshwari strongly believes that any industry running without keeping in mind the development of local population and bio diversity is against ethics. According to him responsible tourism is very important and keeping this in mind he has especially developed an Eco resort wherein from construction to running of the project everything is green and Environmental friendly.

He is a Vaishnava, i.e. follower of Vishnu's Avatars as per India philosophy, and believes that all living or non living are one and same having equal importance on mother earth and equal care should be given to all. According to him local tribal culture has many aspects which can teach us how to live especially living with minimum needs . According to him Sustainable way of living should be the guiding principal of life and that we are only care takers for our coming generations. Come Celebrate Nature Celebrate Life: is the guiding principal at the resort. He strongly believes that we should try to learn from nature where nothing goes waste and keeping this in mind we follow the 3R principal of Reduce, Reuse and Re-Cycle.

Guests come to see Tiger and other denizens of the forest kingdom and the best way to do so is by going for a safari. But, here we miss those small creatures of god who at times are so beautiful and colorful that they inspire us in different ways. So we request our guests to miss a safari if possible instead take a nature walk in adjacent forests where forest department has especially developed a nature trek. We request our guests to not to waste electricity, water and other materials. Rather if not required we do not start the generator for even at times of electricity failure instead we try to enjoy nature and bio diversity.

He believes when a person is in the lap of mother nature that is the best time to meditate about self, family, friends, work and our actions. So, meditation, yoga, jungle walks and like activities can be arranged for guests along with massage and simple food to rejuvenate and get back to work with better energy level and clear mind.

Kanha Village Eco Resort has been made with this concept in mind and we try our best to minimize our carbon foot print by using electricity only when needed, trying not to waste, use bio degradable waste for producing manure etc.,We are sure you will like the system and will go back home much happier and rejuvenated.
